Originally from Kyoto, Japan, Nana studied economics in college before moving to New York to pursue her dream of becoming a musician—aspiring to be the next Satomi Matsuzaki of Deerhoof. Knowing it wouldn’t be easy, she went to an art school to study communication design (partially as a practical way to find bandmates) and ended up falling in love with design.
